UBA, GTB, and FBN are the first to Introduce WhatsApp Banking system in Nigeria, while India was recorded as the first country with the WhatsApp banking system. Most Nigerian banks are not in support of it yet because of some personal reasons.
Banks like UBA, GTB, and FBN, has Introduce WhatsApp instant messaging app and will be launching soon to their customers, customers will be able to perform some essential banking services such as the opening of an account, checking account balance and also be able to carry out other banking services
First Bank of Nigeria: made known that WhatsApp banking will ensure adequate services to the customers. These will enable customers to leverage the real-time messaging capabilities of the WhatsApp Business Solution to check their account balance.
UBA: in a comment, said its chat banker, Leo, was launched in a pilot mode on WhatsApp and will be fully available to customers by September 1
GTBank said it would leverage on the WhatsApp Business Solution to offer Nigerians an additional channel to connect with it for inquiries, service requests, and access to other essential banking services.
I think this would be a great achievement if they will also improve their banking security and service because, without that, this would be an open gate to fraud
